Landscape: Final

There is a lot of depth in this image because of the view point it was taken from
it has made the buildings have a nice perspective
We can clearly see the foreground, mid ground and background
We can see the highlights on the sides of the buildings and the shadows on the front of the buildings
giving the viewer a sense of the light source thus making it clearer to see the depth

We can see the vanishing point in the distance
foreshortening is happening as we can see the building at the
front look bigger than the building at the back
We can see the horizon line at the end of the buildings.

Some of the angles look curved rather than straight
Some of the windows seem out of perspective which lets down this drawing

Still Life: Final

The composition in this drawing seems to work we can tell
where the still life objects are and what's around them
we can see the cast shading from the objects projecting onto the desk to give a sense of depth
we can see more detail on the rule of thirds as there's more objects for the viewer to view

There is no orphaned objects as the objects are all close together
We cant see any kissing objects with the way they were positioned this stops confusion to
the viewer so they know which object is which.
We can see a foreground ,mid ground and background giving the viewer depth
There is a nice balance of shading on both halves of the drawing
The bottles top doesn't look identical to the other side
Everything seems in proportion which helps the viewer recognise the objects.

Figure: Final

From this drawing we can see that there is quite a bit of foreshortening happening with the legs
arms and torso area of the figure.
The shading helps bring depth it also helps the viewer see the curved shapes of the human body
We can see the figure is in a static pose as she is not moving
The figure has nice posture as the figure is grounded laying down also using the left elbow to
hold the head in this static pose

We can see gesture in the figure because of the positioning of the legs, curved spin and especially the
arm holding the head letting the viewer know its a life drawing
We can see the highlights at the front of the body and the shadows beind cast further back indicating
the the viewer that the light source is in-front of the model

The perspective is a little off with the whole drawing
The image seems too centred instead of being in the rule of thirds

Landscapes: Natural Landscapes

The composition works
everything looks the same tone in this image
there seems to be too many gaps between colours which could of been mixed to resolve the issue.
the drawing looks too saturated not giving much contrast

This image has a nice warping effect but lacks mixing of colours
the viewers eye can look around the image with the effect the drawing brings
we can see more details in the rules of thirds
this drawing has impressionistic techniques being use

We can see where the highlights and shading are with the colour contrast displayed
we can see reflections in the water because of the different white hues used
we can tell it was a dull day with the balance of colours

We can tell the all three images have directional marking

Landscapes: ModernArchitecture

we can see more details in the rule of thirds
we can see a lot of highlights from the suns light source
foreshortening is mainly happening on the pillars but we can also see it on the buildings
its quite easy for the viewer to move around the image because of the foreground, mid ground, and background, the curves also help point the viewer to look around the drawing.

the perspective works you can see a lot of the ground showing it must
of been taken from a lower view point.

there is not much detail on the focal point so its hard to notice the focal point at first
we get a slight sense of depth in the buildings but not on the foreground.

Landscape: Classical Interior Achtitecture

This Classical Interior drawing has nice foreshortening, we can see the objects up close
are larger than the ones in the distance which gradually get smaller.

we can see more detail at the front of the image insisting the focal point is around the front of the image instead of the background
The shading helps show the forms of the interior of the building
we can see a foreground, mid ground and background, the foreground being the floor, the mid ground being the first pillars and up the stairs, the background being through the next hallway.

The stairs look flat the viewer won't see any depth the viewer might misjudge it for a slope instead
Some of the highlights look completely white which ruins the image

Figure Drawing: Non-Human Anatomy

This drawing has a nice balanced/ weight, you can see the legs resting on the stick holding the weight while the head is leaning forward and the tail is supporting the body giving the bird balance, we can see it has a nice pose firmly standing on the stick while the head is looking at a bit of an angle instead of straight on.

We can see the bird has been textured with feathers to  give it more depth, we can tell the bird is static in the position it is standing.

We can see its been drawn from an, the side view which is better than a front view but it could of been drawn from a better angle, we cant see muscle structure as there is fur covering it. the stick thats drawn seems a little out of perective

Figure: Movement

The three stances have nice pose, the weight is distributed evenly
The pole the figure is leaning on is helping to show good balance
and it tells us that the figure is doing a rowing motion it helps to capture the movement.
The position of the figure is helping to show the viewer the direction the figure is moving

The shoulders, torso and hips gives us a good sense of the leaning that's
taking effect as the figure moves
We can tell the figure is doing dynamic poses as the poses indicate he's moving
We see the figure is in taking shape of an open form

Some of the proportions are wrong, the first and third figures right arm
is too short stopping at the pelvis
The first figures left leg from knee to toe seems to change direction to the femur.

Figure Posture and Pose

This figure has nice proportions but the feet seem out of proportion
We can tell this drawing has nice balance with the way the weight of the
figure is distributed leaning on his right leg holding the ball while having the left foot stop him from falling
The pose is really strong we can see its a static pose because the figure is not moving
We can tell the way the figure is facing by the way the figure has positioned them selves.

We can tell the figure is in an open form as we can see his spine leaning backwards
and the way the legs are spread apart.

The legs look a bit short, the shoulders and hips could be tilted more to
give that sense of balance on back leg.

Figure Drawing: Anatomy

We can see the buttocks squashing as the weight is being held by the buttocks
the legs are helping the balance, the figure is leaning slightly forward to help the balance we can see this because the spine is curved slightly
The proportions look nice, the humerus, ulna and radius go below the waste
the shoulders clavicle seems to be in proportion but there should be at more of an angle
to emphasise the leaning
We can see the figure is in a static pose as she is sitting still

We can see a real sense of depth in the legs and the spine because of the
knee being bent and the spine being shaded in the middle

The perspective of the chair seems off
The hips should be angled a bit more
we see some muscle tone but not enough

Figure Drawing: Foreshortening

This image doesn't seem to have much foreshortening
the proportioned don't seem to be correct
there is no shading

We can see the second image has an oblique angle
we can see a lot of foreshortening on the right leg and the arms

You can't see through the ribs so it looks like a block, the proportions on the left leg seem to be fine but the left leg doesn't seem to get smaller as it goes further up the leg to give it better foreshortening, the angle of the hips don't seem to be correct. the toes seem to be too spiked

We can tell the poses are to show the foreshortening clearly by the angles the skeletons are positioned.
all three skeletons have balance by the way there legs and arms hold there body still. we can see some gesture with the way the heads are turned.

Still Life: Composition

The composition works with the drapery and the walls behind the objects
the objects are placed on the rule of thirds because of the positioning
the reflections on the ball shows that there is more in the room than the viewer can
see in the image, this gives a good sense of the environment.
we can see the focal point is the three objects

We do get a sense of depth if there was more objects this could of
made the image have more depth but the drapery complement the depth

The flowers and reflections seems to be done well.
the drapery and flowers needs more shading as everything else has more shading.
the bottle glass doesn't look see through as you can't see the wall behind it
no kissing objects, no orphaned objects and no floating objects

Shading and Lighting

We can tell a cast shadow was case from the light as you cant see behind the cloth so the cloth must of been thick to make the cast shadows and the shadows casted behind the cloth are dark like umbra shadows.

This image looks likes its has a smudging technique which hasn't brought our the contrast as much as the other images.
We can tell that there was no fully black and white colours used, we can also tell that chiaroscuro is implied as you can tell which shadows are on the cloths and which shadows are in the background showing depth and volume. we know only one light source was used as the shadows don't go in multiple directions.

.

From these three images we can tell that charcoal has been used to draw the shading on the cloth texture
the back parts of the cloth has darker hues as the front were light which showed nice contrast between the three images

Still Life: Contour Shading

This contour shading drawing has an implied line going in a circle shape going from object to object, this image has a focal point the vase which is positioned on the rule of thirds, the area of interest seems like the flowers next to the vase. The image has a balance of shading on the z axis. We can tell the objects were positioned so that there were no kissing objects, there is depth with many of the objects as they are positioned behind other objects.

There is no orphaned objects with how they were positioned. There is form in this image as we can see the 3D objects being projected.
The arrangement of objects showed off the shadows and the positioning of the light source which gave this image highlights this led to seeing nice contrast and cast shadows being projected.

There is little shading cast onto the table, the table doesn't look perfectly round, some of the proportions look off, the angle of the left vase seems a little out of perspective.

Figure

we can see this figure is in a static pose, we can tell the light source is from the left with
the way the shading is facing, we notice the figure is in the rule of thirds.
this image has nice proportions but from the knee to the ankle looks squished
he's added some nice details to the shading also showing the highlights

the figure has nice balance holding the pole
we can tell the figure is slightly angled with the direction its facing
this drawing has nice central mass with the pose the figure is doing

This image has the feet chopped off at the bottom which doesn't help the drawing
the elbow to the hand on the right arm looks too short
the drawing doesn't seem to have much foreshortening.
